On The Road Again...and Again...

I felt like I was driving a lot today, which was weird cause here in our little town of pg the longest you need to drive is 8 min. But I ventured a little farther today. First to the Provo Imaging center to finally shadow! So 3:00, I'm there, again waiting for Shane whose in a meeting. 3:45 he finally comes out and I can start! He sticks me with the x-ray tech who was just finishing up an older lady when I got there. He was saying that he's been busy all day, just runnin those patients through. But once I get there and for the rest of the hour and 15 min, NO PATIENTS! AT ALL! I think someone's working against me here. This shadowing thing is halfway working out. But he told me interesting stuff, I got to look at the x-rays he had done that day, lots of abdomen ones. A shoulder, wrist, foot, t-spine. I love looking at x-rays. I don't know what it is but they fascinate me.

So... I finish shadowing and let me just explain my keys to you. The plastic head's purpose is to unlock the drivers door. That's all it does. Waste of metal huh. The other metal car key, is for the engine, and all the other doors except the drivers door. Kind of screwed up but hey I just deal. Well, I stick in plastic head and not looking, twist, thinking the key is all the way in. Well it turns easily in a weird way. So I look down and i've twisted the metal. Bizarre! So my key was horizontal (the right way) and then vertical. So I have to unlock the passenger door and climb through to unlock my door! And then get in. Process. I know. So after this fiasco I drive clear to Highland to help stock the new Ace Hardware store, and good ole' Kendall there decides to twist my key back, and thus resulting in the complete breakage and seperation of the lower half. Good thing we have 2 sets of spares at my house.

Update

Well I am now 18 and legal! I had a wonderful birthday. And things always just seem to happen at the right time. I know I'm being watched over. I have $200 left to pay for on my school tour, and my tax refund will come just in time to cover that. And my grandpa wanted to help pay for some of my other tour to Europe, which will help me out so much! I'm so grateful. But I had a really good birthday.

I shadowed a radiologist, interesting but completely confusing. Frustrating. But it's interesting, the different views of what beauty is to certain people. How their profession reflects on their take of beauty. He was working on an xray of a heart and mapping out the veins to see if there was any narrowing and the vein was perfect. Nice and wide... and according to him, beautiful. Ha it made me laugh but I can see his point.

Valentines day was spent at work, cleaning tedious areas, it was slow going. But the day was full of way too much food after work and lazing with my choir girls watching movies. Stupid movies that make you want a boyfriend gosh dangit! But no worries, relationships in high school are over rated. Happy Valentines day! I love my family! They are my valentine :D

Yes finally!!

PAHAHHA I can't even begin to tell you how long I've been looking for these videos... They are awesome. I first was introduced to these beauties in Hawaii I believe from either Paige or Heather... and I haven't been able to find them until now! So this first video is Asian girls teaching you english in case you don't speak it and you come to America and get robbed... apparently that's the first thing that's going to happen to you when you come to America. But to make things more interesting they make it into a workout! It's basically hilarious

The Fountainhead

Warm falls apart every so gently in your mouth fresh out of the oven home made wheat bread = divine goodness

5 days until i'm legal!!

I finished The Fountainhead which is easily one of my top favorite books. It's so well written and developed, I definitely know I'm only scratching the surface of really understanding the hidden themes and meanings even though this was my second time reading it. Here are some quotes from the book.
“That’s the sort of thing I want you to understand, To sell your soul is the easiest thing in the world. That’s what everybody does every hour of his life. If I ask you to keep your soul, would you understand why that is much harder.”

“I often think that he’s the only one of us who’s achieved immortality. I don’t mean in the sense of fame and I don’t mean that he won’t die some day. But he’s living it. I think he is what the conception really means. You know how people long to be eternal. But they die with every day that passes. When you meet them, they’re not what you met last. In any given hour, they kill some part of themselves. They change, they deny, they contradict–and they call it growth. At the end there’s nothing left, nothing unrevered or unbetrayed; as if there had never been any entity, only a succession of adjectives fading in and out on an unformed mass. How do they expect a permanence which they have never held for a single moment? But Howard–one can imagine him existing forever.”

“a house can have integrity, just like a person,” said Roark, “and just as seldom.”

Toohey presses the issue, saying: “Mr. Roark, we’re alone here. Why don’t you tell me what you think of me? In any words you wish. No one will hear us.” and Roark replies, “But I don’t think of you.”

New Found Love

Angels and Demons comes out to theaters May 15th! Such an amazing book... if you haven't read it, get on it!

And a movie introduced to me by my sister that I am now in love with... The Painted Veil.

This movie has gorgeous interesting music, piano that has a feel of sad almost slow-motion circus act going on..which i know sounds weird but I loved it. You have the River Waltz. And the one that's more slow motion circus is Gnossienne No. 1. Another song I loved is a french childrens folk song called A La Claire Fontaine. It's just a simple cute song, and I love listening to foreign languages in songs as it is...so this one was destined to be one i'd love. The chorus translates to "So long I've been loving you, I will never forget you." Which brings a huge meaning to that point in the movie. But anyways, it's gorgeous. The movie has what I want to say as a sense of color tone... the whole thing is in a different color tone. If you've seen the Illusionist or Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, you know what I mean.
