Another Birthday and an Oscar

So this is slightly late but happy birthday to my beautiful older sister who just had a baby 3 weeks ago!
Life just turns on a dime here.
I practiced my cake making again in celebration of Heather's birthday.
I'm still having frosting control issues but I'm happy with result anyways.

Also in other news, the Crosland family got together tonight, dressed up and ready for the Oscars.
This was my first time, first time ever wearing lipstick. So naturally Natalie and I had to try out the kissy face to show off our lipstick.
We're pro.

Happy Oscars everyone!

Sayid

Every time I work at the mall I come home with cravings to watch LOST.
Sayid works at a store next to me.

Blah

I was feeling all good and fine about myself today until I had to work Valentine's Day night at the mall...
Now I feel like a complete failure at life.
Stupid how something like that happens just because of a holiday.
Time to go bury my head in textbooks since that's the only thing I'm good at right now.

A Baby, A Vegas Trip, A Birthday

First thing on the agenda: I became an aunt. Finally. February 5th was the day! Little baby Evelyn is honestly the most adorable, perfect baby. (Click here for a lovely little picture of her) I know that everyone says that about their babies but I'm in all honesty here. She didn't come out with any cone-head weirdness going on. She was just perfect.

Second thing on the agenda is I just got back yesterday from a Vegas trip! I know that your thinking it's about time that I got a break from school and how busy my life been but don't get too excited, this trip was for school. There was a radiology conference going on there so some of the girls and I decided to go. It was good. Michelle, Kryshelle, and I got a good 4 hours of studying done during the drive down there and then probably 3 hours on the way home. The conference had some good classes that I appreciated, but it also had some let downs. But I can't complain because we got credited hours for our clinicals so now I'm ahead even more in my hours. We played around and wandered the strip one night and went shopping to the outlets and the mall the last night. We played some intense rounds of Egyptian Ratscrew. (I forgot how much I love that game and how incredibly competitive I get whenever I play it.) I did learn a lot about different personality types. I learned that I need to be way more patient, (as always). We had multiple people ask us if we were from Utah only to answer back with the statement that they could tell by the way we walked. I didn't realize people from Utah had a specific walk. (?) Oh well. I'd rather be assumed that then something else.
Pictures to come later once people post them on facebook so I can steal them.

Last agenda for today is that IT'S MY BIRTHDAY AND I'M NOW 21. Big deal, I know. I think I'm most excited to get a new drivers license. Woot woot!
I had lunch today at Zupas with two of my favorite girls. We have honestly had this plan of getting the chocolate fondue plate for two years now and it finally happened today. It was delicious. And my sandwich was amazing.
Tonight is going to be a crepe night with some friends.
Happy Birthday self.

Family

"When we have sampled much and have wandered far and have seen how fleeting and sometimes superficial a lot of the world is, our gratitude grows for the privilege of being part of something we can count on - home and family and the loyalty of loved ones. We come to know what it means to be bound together by duty, by respect, by belonging. We learn that nothing can fully take the place of the blessed relationship of family life." - Thomas S. Monson

I started reading his biography. Good stuff. I love biographies.

Life

My last semester at BYU-Idaho I lived in the basement of a house with 7 other girls. Lauren was one of those girls. I adore her. She would always sit and eat nutella on graham crackers with me. She was hardly home. She would wake up, go to class, be at school all day, come home to change and then head off to work until late at night. This semester I've turned into Lauren. I am never home. It makes me sad. As much as I know that I don't have a ton of friends, I don't care because I love being at home. But this semester is full of running around from place to place. It's good though. I have a job. I'm doing well in school. I'm doing things that are important to me. Life is good right now. And busy.
