Lessons from a book

Well, 2. The ones I'm reading right now.

Letters For Emily
pg 166
"Many people think that money is bad or evil. It isn't. Other's think that if they have a lot of it, they will be happy. They won't, Still others believe that if they have more of it than people around them, they will be better. They aren't. And yet, it's a paradox, because we must eat. Money, used as a means of barter, helps us in that goal. It isn't inherently good or bad, just part of the whole process of working for our sustenance."

Life of Pi
pg 98
"In that case, what is the purpose of reason, Richard Parker? Is it no more than to shine at practicalities- the getting of food, clothing and shelter? Why can't reason give greater answers? Why can't we throw a question further than we can pull in an answer? Why such a vast net if there's so little fish to catch?"

pg 148
"But i discovered at that moment that I have a fierce will to live. It's not something evident, in my experience. Some of us give up on life with only a resigned sigh. Others fight a little, then lose hope. Still others- and i am one of those- never give up. We fight and fight and fight. We fight no mater the cost of battle, the losses we take, the improbability of success. We fight to the very end. It's not a question of courage. It's something constitutional, an inability to let go. It may be nothing more than life-hungry stupidity."

Go my favorite sports team, Go!

Soccer.
I just love it.
3-2, against Riverton. We won!
Darren is a beast, scored the first and last goal.
John Taylor scored the second goal.
That was an intense game. I loved it.

But i have to rant.
How much money did we spend to get a second set of bleachers for the visiting team? Just tell me.. cause the visitors seem to be a bit retarded! about using it. I donno, maybe it's just Riverton people cause this happened last night at the lacrosse game too.
So we have Riverton parents sitting to the side and in front of us, the pg high school crowd. So of course, being the high school students at a sports game, immature rants and screaming comes out.. we just get into the game. And one of the parents from Riverton...ooh man he was sideways glaring us down like his life depended on it. But hey, he's on PG'S SIDE THE RETARD! I don't understand what else he expects... us to sit quietly and clap politely keeping our comments to ourselves. FREAK NO! He should just move his Riverton butt to Riverton side! Then he wouldn't have to deal with us, and we wouldn't have to deal with them.... cause let me tell ya, we were gonna hurt them. When they would score, someone would whistle for a dang long time... and all of us behind them are just boiling... so of course when we would score, we screamed like it was their business to know we just scored. Oh it was fun. :)

Choir Tour

This is all a week late but I had no way of getting my pictures onto the computer, so what's the point in posting about choir tour without pictures to show... no reason at all to post. until now!

Doris Day, i love her.

Fred Astaire!

The Hollywood Bowl

Sea World

Me and Todd! We had both of our ipods out, and a head phone from each one, so we could switch through songs on each others ipod and have a dance party on the bus. Great fun!
The line for the new toy story ride was forever long so we got churros! and decided to have a competition of getting the churro sugary powder all over your lips, and whoever licks them, loses. So here's Kathryn, Jenny and me with our churro sugary lips.
Me Todd and Brooke on the teacups! and my leaf :)
The gang in Indiana Jones. The line took forever once we got inside so we played Big Booty the whole way! It was so much fun! and i'm sure the people around us hated that, but oh well. We gotta entertain ourselves someway!

My favorite wall... I love it.

Switzerland

Another one of the countries I will be visiting on my tour. Here's some of the places we'll see...

Crans-Montana, one place where we'll stay, it's located in the French speaking part of the country.
We take a day trip to Zermatt, home of the Matterhorn! This part of the country speaks German.

We'll also take a guided tour of the Castle of Chillon. And then a walk along the banks of Lake Geneva (Lac Lemon)

Hard

Change is everywhere. It's always happening and it always will. Sometimes I love it. I love the change is scenery, change in new friendships, change in school year. But sometimes, the change is hard, hard to see happen. How can someone who has been there, maybe known it, turn away from it.
I love seeing people change for the better, ah it's exciting. Seeing the progression.
It hurts seeing people change for the worse. It affects everyone, not just the one person. I'm not sure they realize that. Maybe they don't know they've changed. But those around them know. They feel it.
It's hard.

Friendships

Friendships just intrigue me. You just gotta wonder sometimes how some people became friends. Some just don't look real.. When did it happen? Have they always been really good frends, or has it been a bumpy journey.

But being on choir tour, wow everything comes out there. First off your stuck in a bus for over 12 hours getting to your destination, and then every day to where you're going. Then there's six of you to a hotel room. You learn to get cozy. Seeing who hung out together, who became close was one of my favorite things. people watching. Some friends I learned, are only friends if they're benefiting. If not, it's a stab to the back, quick as anything. But yet they're still friends? I could only conclude... acutally i'm not sure really but it was interesting to watch. And sad.
I got a lot closer with the people i hung out with. I already knew them, but now, there's inside jokes and stories. Funny how things like that bring people together. It's like they suddenly have a secret club.

Specialize

So I've figured out what I want to specialize in, in the radiology field. And that would be a CMRI. Cardiac MRI. All focused on the heart.
Doesn't that just look fascinating and amazing! I love it.
