New Years Eve Adventures...

Well! For our new years eve, we traveled by train to Colorado! Which i will say was soo much fun! Eight hours on a train seems long, but it wasn't. It was relaxing. My dad being the kid that he is... found a window on the lower section of the train that you could open, so we stuck our heads out and pretty much got shot with the wind. It was intense. We had an awesome omish family on the train with us! ha it killed me and my sneaky dad got pictures... they were the whole packet.. 5 little boys.. all in their cute suspenders and plain shirts, straw hats. That family worked the hats.

So we finally arrive and all i can think of is this song from the movie, the unsinkable molly brown, which i can't find on youtube but if you've seen the movie it's the Colorado, My Home song...

The hotel we stayed at is the Hotel Colorado, rich in history and "other residents." (it's haunted) But some of the historic figures that have stayed there are Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and William Taft. The famous Buffalo Bill, the Unsinkable Molly Brown, and Al Capone also stayed at the hotel.

So for new years eve, there is a huge natural hot spring pool across the street, it's 2 city blocks long. The smaller pool is 104 degrees and they suggest only 5-10 intervals...yeah right. and the bigger pool is 90 degrees. But we were hot springin into the new year! The pools were packed, the 104 degree pool was body to body..you could barely move. There were around twelve hundred people in the hot spring!! How insane is that! It's winter, maybe 20 degrees outside and you're in a swimsuit looking at snow just out of the pool on the sidewalk.... weird weird. But it was fun! Definately a different new years eve i've ever had... everyone had party hats and noise makers. It was so steamy and foggy, you couldn't see people if they were more then 5 ft away. So that was a little weird walking up on people... hahah

The only part that sucked was getting back to the hotel after swimming. Your freezing cold standing out in the 20 degree air in a wet swimsuit while trying to throw clothes on as fast as you can and then running up and across the street to the hotel...COLD!!

So that was my new years eve... it was awesome. I absolutely loved it.

The Light In The Piazza

Today I went and saw Light In The Piazza with my mom up at the Pioneer Theater. My dad got us tickets for Christmas and this broadway just went so well because I'm going to Italy next summer, and I would be one to go fall for an Italian. ;) hahah that's why my dad got them for us. But it was an awesome broadway! I have the music but I've never really known the storyline that well... just the bits and pieces you get from the music. We had awesome seats! Fifth row from the stage and just about dead center. I'm so grateful for my papa!! He's awesome and seems to know just what to give. Thank you dad!

Stressful

So today was a bit overwhelming... to start off the morning, chamber would be caroling in the hallway, so i needed to be at the school at 6:45. Well good ole alarm doesn't go off, so I miraculously wake up at 6:30. Just enough time to shove food down my throat while slabbing some make up on to make me look somewhat alive. I throw my keys to nate so he can turn on my car and get it warming up while i throw on some clothes. It's now 6:45 and i'm thinking, k, i'll be fine. Just leave now, no one will be on the roads so i'll get there in 5 min. So i rush out of the doorway, into a nice fresh dumping of snow. snow! Well, 15-20 mins later i finally arrive at the school... grr

Once that was done and over with i had some breathing time, not much because i forgot my choir dress at home and after school we were getting on buses to go perform... so i thought, hey i'll just go home at lunch. No big deal. Well, i missed 2nd period because i was in the assembly so i missed the test we took in there, which i was going to make up during lunch. So in my quick thinking, I took the test during the rest of the assembly, a good 75 question test in say.. 10-15 min. Oh yeah i flew through that one. And in 3rd period, we were just watching a movie and my blessed wonderful teacher let me leave so i could get my dress and not have to deal with idiotic high school students in the parking lot full of snow during lunch.... and the roads were horrible. That snow just kept on falling. A lovely 4-5 inches on my car, and it was only out there 4 hours!!!

So yeah, today was just stressing with tests all over the place and crazy snow, and parents gone so i had to drive in the snow, which freaks me out, and being too busy i can't stop and breath.... i'm tired.

The ACT is cursed..

That's what i've officially decided... the history of the bad luck, Heather's first go at the monster, resulted in a speeding ticket when coming home. Katie's go also resulted in a speeding ticket when coming home...so you're probably thinking i got pulled over. NO!! thank goodness. But oh good ole me didn't account for all my reciepts and so i went over on my balance!! grrrr at least my parents got me an overdraft protection, but i still have to pay some money. I blame the month. It's too busy. I don't even have time to realize if i have senior-itis or not... who knows. All i know is that the ACT sucks all humanity from me for the rest of the day. Good thing this is my last time taking it! So hopefully my score goes up... please go up!!!

Shows

So I saw Twilight of course! But i got to see the premier at 7 oclock! It was soo much fun, Melanie Brower is amazing and so cute. When you walked into the theater you got a VIP pass and on the back you could either find a black scribble, red scribble, and different sayings. I had a black scribble so i got a bookmark. Some of the others were 'bella's perfume' and that person got perfume that i guess has just been made and titled bella's perfume. If it said 'Edward' then you got a black sparkly blanket and 'icy cold' gum. If it said 'Jacob' then you got a brown fuzzy blanket and 'red hot' gum! hahah She's cleaver. But I did like the movie. I went in with no expectations....so maybe that's why they did better then i thought! But i was surprised! The actors were really good! I liked it.

I also got to see Aida at the Hale Center Theater with miss sophie hall! Love her. But the show was absolutely amazing! and i could see that musical over and over again and love it everytime. We were belting aida songs all the drive home :)

Finally Answered!!

I was finally answered for preference today. And i gotta give him probs.. haha pretty good. So story, i asked him in a freakin awesome way, but apparently there weren't enough hints so he was stuck listening to a Cd forever confused out of his mind. I didn't think it was that hard, but hey, i made it so there's the difference. So for a couple weeks, he would keep telling me.. "megan, i'm going to answer you! oh but you wait, it's gonna be so hard...it'll take you forever to figure it out!" So here i am expecting this crazy puzzle of some sorts...leading to all these clues and going on forever until i just give up and figure it's a yes. Well, one doorbell ditch later and there's a plate wrapped in tin foil with a note on my porch... it read, "You hit the right note. It would be a real treat to go to preference with you!! -- darren walker" and underneath the tin foil!!... a giant cookie shaped as a music note! cleaver boy!! hahha i definately enjoyed it. he apparently gave up on making it challenging.

Getting Control

Things are finally starting to come together with my college applications. Weber was easy, had that thing done and shipped, scholarship the next week. But BYU Idaho....dah!! The deadline is Dec. 1st...which is coming up out of nowhere! The application gives you 2 steps at first...and once you get through those...BAM it hits you with seven more. These are more intense, like interviews with the Bishop and Stake President, and have seminary teacher go online to fill out information about you. All i'm thinking is... my seminary teacher likes me right?... But I've gotten through the bulk, have my interviews scheduled for this Tuesday, one right after the other... so it'll be done in a night thank goodness! So i'm feeling pretty good right now, not that stressed overwhelming can't breath someone pull me up from this slouched crap I need to get going on that position...
